5. Four simple effective quranic duas
- From Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) ( See i to iv below)Imam Jafar Sadiq (as)had expressed surprise why Momins do not use the 4 simple effective duas available to them when they’re in need
i. To Overcome Fear of Authority/Ruler:The Imam (as) wondered that when a person’s enemies are deceitful against him, he doesn’t recite these words.Because Allah says, thereafter, that when the Mu’mins of the Tribe of Pharo recited these words, He protected them from the deceit of their enemies. So Allah saved him from the evil of their schemes. (Verse 45)

However, there are some preconditions for the dua to be accepted which include:
· Taqwa - Fear of Allah (swt)
· Efforts and Perseverance. Efforts like that of Hajra who ran between the mountains of Safa and Marwah with patience and perseverance in not giving up and continuing to run for seven rounds.
· Conviction and belief in the words and possible result
The reward will then exceed all expectations, like the well of zam zam although what Lady Hajira asked for was only a cupful!
Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (as) says that one who recites the following words will certainly get his prayers answered:
6. Three short duas from Imam ar Ridha(as) Reference: Du'as No. 16,19 and 47 from As-Saheefat ar-Radhwaiyyah
i. For seeking well-being and thanking for it He said that once `Ali b. al-Husayn علیه السلام saw a person doing tawaaf of al-Ka`bah and saying: O God I ask from You the patience (as-Sabr). The Imam علیه السلام striked his shoulder and said: you have asked for affliction (balaa'), [Instead] say:
7. RIZQ Dua(sufficient sustenance)
Once the Prophet's (sas) daughter Fatima Zehra (sa)asked the Prophet(saws) for a helper. The Prophet (saws)advised her to recite the following Tasbih which is now known as Tasbih e Zehra. This Tasbih is usually recited after each prayer. However, it also has great value for solving the problems of Rizq, Sustenance, Business, Job etc. The person should recite the tasbih with the niyyat (intention) of seeking rizq (sustenance); before leaving the house (sitting in the car for going to work), before commencing business or before starting work at office.

A young man was on his deathbed when the Holy Prophet (as) came, sat near him, and told him to recite two Kalimas (Shahadatain). But the youth could not speak. The Holy Prophet (as) enquired if his mother was present? A woman sitting near his head said, “Yes, I am his mother.” The Holy Prophet (sas) asked, “ Are your displeased with him ?” ‘Yes, O Prophet, we have not spoken to each other since the last six years.’ The Holy Prophet (sas) asked this woman to forgive her son. Thus at the Prophet’s instance she forgave his mistakes and was reconciled. At once the young man was able to recite the Kalima al-Shahadat. The Holy Prophet(sas) asked him, “What do you see, at this moment.” “O Prophet of Allah a dark and smelly man has got hold of me and is not leaving me.” The Holy Prophet (saws) told him to recite the following Dua:12. Two short Duas to be recited daily from BY LADY KHADIJA(sa)
It is mentioned that even if the following are recited once daily, God becomes the caretaker of his affairs. Sayyed Ibn Tawus, in his book Mehaj-ud-Dawaat, has narrated these two duas that are so comprehensive that they encompass solutions to all of our problems:13. In "Tuhfatu Ridawiyah"
he said: Allamah Taqi, Sayyid Mirza Hasan bn Sayyid Mirza Ali Agha Shirazi told me of the following supplication, he mentioned that it was from the proof (may Allah hasten his relief) and some pious scholars has also narrated it. Fifth: Imam al-Sadiq (`a) is reported to have raised his hands towards the sky and said this supplicatory prayer:
رَبِّ لاَ تَكِلْنِي إِلىٰ نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ أَبَداً
rabbi la takilni ila nafsi tarfata `aynin abadan
O my Lord, never relegate me to myself even for a winking of an eye,

(Please) have mercy upon me against what I am too feeble to do and what I am too impatient to stand.
Seventh: Imam al-Sadiq (`a) is also reported to have advised of saying this supplicatory prayer:
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِجَلاَلِكَ وَجَمَالِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ أَنْ…

O Allah, (please) do not make me of the unfixed-hearted
wa la tukhrijni min alttaqsiri
and do not make me feel not negligent.
To explain, the first statement is a prayer for not including with those whose faith is as irregular as loans, which means that faith is not fixed in their hearts. However, the statement may also stand for a prayer for not including with those whom are relegated to themselves and Allah the Almighty has no interference in their affairs, just like a horse whose rein is thrown freely on its wither and is left to graze uncontrollably.
The second statement is a prayer for not including with those who feel themselves to have carried out their duties towards their Lord flawlessly. In fact, one must always feel that he cannot carry out his duties towards his Lord fully whatever efforts he would exert.
Ninth: Reported from Imam al-Baqir (as) "Allah swt has forgiven a Bedouin man for these two words he said in his prayer:
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنْ تُعَذِّبْنِي فَأَهْلٌ لِذٰلِكَ أَنَٱ
allahumma in tu`adhdhibni fa'ahlun lidhalika ana
O Allah, if You punish me, then this befits me,
wa in taghfir li fa'ahlun lidhalika anta
but if You forgive me, then it befits You.
Tenth: Dawud al-Raqqi has said: Whenever he insisted in prayers, Imam al-Sadiq (`a) would pray Almighty Allah in the name of the Five Persons: the Holy Prophet, Imam `Ali, Lady Fatimah, Imam al-Hasan, and Imam al-Husayn, peace be upon them.
Eleventh: Yazid al-Sa'igh is reported to have said: I asked Imam al-Sadiq (`a) to pray Almighty Allah for our good. He therefore said:
allahumma irzuqhum sidqa alhadithi
O Allah, (please) endue them with truthfulness in speech,
wa ada'a al-amanati
fulfillment of trusts,

O Allah, they are the worthiest of all of Your creatures to obtain this from You;
allahumma if`alhu bihim
therefore, O Allah, do it to them.
Twelfth: Say this supplicatory prayer, which Imam `Ali Amir al-Mu'minin (`a) used to say:
اَللَّهُمَّ مُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِٱلتَّوَكُّلِ عَلَيْكَ
allahumma munna `alayya bilttawakkuli `alayka
O Allah, endue me with reliance on You,

hatta la uhibba ta`jila ma akhkharta
so that I would not long for hastening what You delay
wa la ta'khira ma `ajjalta
and delaying what You hasten.
ya rabba al`alamina
O Lord of the worlds!
Thirtieth: Yunus is reported to have asked Imam al-Rida (`a) for a brief supplicatory prayer; so, the Imam (`a) taught him to say this:

ya man dallani `ala nafsihi
O He Who has guided me to Himself
