Supplication 150- Day 27 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ رَحْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
allaahumma innee asaloka rahmatan min i’ndeka
Allah, I ask You for mercy from You
تَهْدي بِها قَلْبي وَ تَجْمَعُ بِها أَمْري
tahdee behaa qalbee, wa taj-ma-o’ behaa amree,
through which You guide my heart, arrange my circumstances,
وَ تلُمُّ بِها شَعْثي وَ تُصْلِحُ بِها دِیْنِیْ
wa talummo behaa sha’see, wa tusleho behaa deenee,
compose my disordered affairs, set right my religion,
وَ تَحْفَظُ بِها غائِبي وَ تُزَكّي بِها شاهِدي
wa tahfazo behaa ghaa-ebee, wa tozakkee behaa shaahedee,
safeguard my unseen affairs, purify my witnessed affairs,
وَ تُكَثِّرُ بِها مالي، وَ تُنْمي بِها عُمْرى
wa tokassero behaa maalee, wa tunmee behaa u’mree,
increase my wealth, prolong my life-span,
وَ تُيَسِّرُ بِها اَمْري وَ تَسْتُرُ بِها عَيْبي
wa toyassero behaa amree, wa tastoro behaa a’ybee,
ease my affair, veil my faults,
وَ تُصْلِحُ بِها كُلَّ فاسِدٍ مِنْ اَحْوالي
wa tusleho behaa kulla faasedin min ahwaalee,
rectify every corruption in my circumstances,
وَ تَصْرِفُ بِها عَنّي كُلَّ ما اَكْرَهُ
wa tasrefo behaa kulla maa akraho,
avert from me everything I dislike;
wa tobayyezo behaa wajhee,
And through which You honour me
وَ تَعْصِمُني بِها مِنْ كُلِّ سُوءٍ بَقِيَّةَ عُمْري
wa ta’semonee behaa min kulle soo-in baqiyyata u’mree.
and protect me from every evil for the rest of my life.
اَللَّهُمَّ اَنْتَ الْاَوَّلُ فَلا شَيْ ءَ قَبْلَكَ
allaahumma antal awwalo falaa shay-a qablaka,
O Allah, You are the First, there was nothing before You,
وَ اَنْتَ الْاخِرُ فَلا شَيْ ءَ بَعْدَكَ
wa antal aakhero falaa shay-a ba’daka,
You are the Last, there is nothing after You,
وَ اَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ فَلا شَيْ ءَ فَوْقَكَ
wa antaz zaahero falaa shay-a fawqaka
You are the Manifest, there is nothing above You,
وَ اَنْتَ الْباطِنُ فَلا شَيْ ءَ دُونَكَ
wa antal baateno falaa shay-a doonaka
You are the Hidden, there is nothing below You.
ظَهَرْتَ فَبَطَنْتَ وَ بَطَنْتَ فَظَهَرْتَ
zaharta fabatanta, wa batanta fazaharta,
You became manifest and so You were hidden, You became hidden and so You were manifest.
تَبَطَّنْتَ لِلظَّاهِرينَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
tabattanta liz zaahereena min khalqeka
You are hidden to the manifest among Your creatures
وَ لَطُفْتَ لِلنَّاظِرينَ مِنْ قَطَراتِ اَرْضِكَ
wa latufta lin-naazereena min qataraate arzek,
and You are remote, due to Your Subtlety, from the onlookers from the regions of Your earth,
وَ عَلَوْتَ في دُنُوِّكَ وَ دَنَوْتَ في عُلُوِّكَ فَلا اِلهَ غَيْرُكَ
wa a’lawta fee donuwweka wa danawta fee o’luwweka falaa elaaha ghayrok.
You are Sublime in Your Nearness and Near in Your Sublimity, there is no god but You.
اَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
asaloka an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
I ask You to bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ اَنْ تُصْلِحَ لي دينِيَ الَّذي هُوَ عِصْمَةُ اَمْري
wa an tusleha deeneyal lazee howa i’smato amree,
and to rectify my religion, which is the protector of my affair,
وَ دُنْياىَ التَّي فيها مَعيشَتي
wa dunyaayal latee feehaa ma-e’eshatee,
my world, in which is my livelihood,
وَ اخِرَتِيَ التَّي فيها مَاٰبِی
wa aakherateyal latee feehaa ma-aabee,
and my Hereafter, to which is my return
وَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَ الْحَياةَ زِيادَةً لي في كُلِّ خَيْرٍ
wa an taj-a’lal hayaata zeyaadatan lee fee kulle khayrin,
and to make my life an increase for me in every good
وَ الْمَوْتَ راحَةً لي مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ
wal mawta raahatan lee min kulle sharr.
and death a repose from every evil.
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
allaahumma lakal hamdo qabla kulle shay-in,
O Allah, to You belongs praise before everything,
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ بَعْدَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
wa lakal hamdo ba’da kulle shay-in,
and to You belongs praise after everything.
يا صَريخَ الْمُسْتَصْرِخينَ
yaa sareekhal mustasrekheena,
O Succour of those who call out for help,
يا مُفَرِّجُ عَنِ الْمَكْرُوبينَ
yaa mofarreja a’nil makroobeena,
O Dispeller (of grief) from the distressed,
يا مُجيبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرّينَ
yaa mojeeba da’watil muztarreena,
O Answerer of the call of the constrained,
وَ يا كاشِفَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظيمِ
wa yaa kaashefal karbil a’zeeme,
O Remover of the mighty distress,
yaa arhamar raahemeena,
O Most merciful of the merciful
ikshif karbee wa ghammee,
Remove my distress and sorrow,
فَاِنَّهُ لا يَكْشِفُهُماغَيْرُكَ
fainnahu laa yakshefohomaa ghayroka,
for none other than You can remove it,
فَقَدْ تَعْلَمُ حالي وَ صِدْقَ حاجَتي اِلَيْكَ
faqad ta’lamo haalee wa sidqa haajatee elayka,
For You know my condition and the sincerity of my need of You
وَ اِلى بِرِّكَ وَ اِحْسانِكَ
wa elaa birreka wa ehsaaneka,
and Your Goodness and Beneficence,
فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
fasalle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
So bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
وَ اقْضِها يا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ
waq zehaa yaa arhamar raahemeen.
and fulfil it, O Most merciful of the merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ كُلُّهُ وَ لَكَ الْعِزُّ كُلُّهُ
allaahumma falakal hamdo kullohu, wa lakal i’zzo kullohu,
O Allah, to You belongs Praise, all of it, and to You belongs the Might, all of it,
وَ لَكَ السُّلْطانُ كُلُّهُ
wa lakas sultaano kullohu,
to You belongs the Dominion, all of it,
وَ لَكَ الْقُدْرَةُ وَ الْفَخْرُ وَ الْجَبَرُوتُ كُلُّها
wa lakal qudrato wal fakhro wal jabarooto kullohaa,
and to You belongs the Power, Pride and Might, all of it;
وَ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ كُلُّهُ وَ اِلَيْكَ يَرْجِعُ الْاَمْرُ كُلُّهُ
wa beyadekal khayro kullohu, wa elayka yarje-u’l amro kullohu
in Your Hand is the good, all of it and to You returns the affair, all of it,
a’laaneyatohu wa sirrohu.
the manifest and the secret.
اَللَّهُمَّ لا هادِيَ لِمَنْ اَضْلَلْتَ
allaahumma laa haadeya leman azlalta,
O Allah, no guide has the one You have led astray
وَ لا مُضِلَّ لِمَنْ هَدَيْتَ
wa laa mozilla leman hadayta,
and no misleader Has the one You have guided;
وَ لا مانِعَ لِما اَعْطَيْتَ
wa laa maane-a’ lemaa aa’tayta,
there is no withholder of what You have bestowed
وَ لا مُعْطِيَ لِما مَنَعْتَ
wa laa mo’teya lemaa mana’ta,
nor any bestower of what You have withheld;
وَ لا مُؤَخِّرَ لِما قَدَّمْتَ
wa laa moakhkhera lemaa qaddamta,
There is no delayer of what You have advanced
وَ لا مُقَدِّمَ لِمَا اَخَّرْتَ
wa laa moqaddema lemaa akhkharta,
nor any advancer of what You have delayed;
وَ لا باسِطَ لِما قَبَضْتَ
wa laa baaseta lemaa qabazta,
there is no outspreader of what You have straitened
وَ لا قابِضَ لِما بَسَطْتَ
wa laa qaabeza lemaa basatta.
nor any straitener of what You have outspread.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ ابْسُطْ عَلَيَّ مِنْ بَرَكاتِكَ
wab sot a’layya min barakaateka
and extend to me of Your blessings,
وَ فَضْلِكَ وَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ رِزْقِكَ
wa fazleka wa rahmateka wa rizqeka.
Your Bounty, Your Mercy and Your sustenance.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ الْغِنى يَوْمَ الْفاقَةِ
allaahumma innee assevere alokal ghenaa yawmal faaqate,
O Allah, I ask You for sufficiency on the day of need,
وَ الْأَمْنَ يَوْمَ الْخَوْفِ
wal amna yawmal khawfe,
security on the day of fear
وَ النَّعيمَ الْمُقيمَ الَّذي لا يَزُولُ وَ لا يَحُولُ
wan na-e’emal moqeemal lazee laa yazoolo wa laa yahool.
and lasting favours which neither cease nor change.
اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّماواتِ السَّبْعِ
allaahumma rabbas samaawaatis sab-e’,
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens
وَ رَبَّ الْاَرَضينَ السَّبْعِ
wa rabbal arazeenas sabe’
and the seven earths
وَ ما فيهِنَّ وَ ما بَيْنَهُنَّ
wa maa feehinna wa maa baynahunna,
and what is in them and what is between them,
وَ رَبَّنا وَ رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
wa rabbanaa wa rabba kulle shay-in,
our Lord and the Lord of everything;
مُنْزِلَ التَّوْراةِ وَ الْاِنْجيلِ
munzelat tawraate wal injeele
Revealer of the Torah and the Injil,
وَ الزَّبُورِ وَ الْفُرْقانِ الْعَظيمِ
waz zaboore wal furqaanil a’zeeme,
the Zabur and the Mighty Furqan,
وَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظيمِ
wa rabbal a’rshil a’zeeme,
And “...Lord of the Mighty Throne” (9:129)
فالِقَ الْحَبِّ وَ النَّوى
faaleqal habbe wan nawaa,
“...Splitter of the grain and the date-stone” (6:95)
اَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ ذي شَرٍّ
a-o’ozo beka min sharre kulle zee sharrin,
I take refuge in You from the evil of everything possessed of evil,
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دابَّةٍ اَنْتَ اخِذٌ بِناصِيَتِها
wa min sharre kulle daabbatin anta aakhezun benaaseyatehaa,
and from the evil of every creature whom You have seized by the forelock (Ref. 10:56),
اِنَّ رَبّي عَلى صِراطٍ مُسْتَقيمٍ
inna rabbe a’laa seraatin mustaqeemin,
“...Surely my Lord is on a straight path” (10:56)
وَ هُوَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
wa howa a’laa kulle shay-in qadeerun,
And “...He is powerful over everything” (11:4)
وَ بِكُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ مُحيطٌ
wa be-kulle shay-in moheet.
And He encompasses everything.
اَللَّهُمَّ اَنْتَ الْأوَّلُ فَلَيْسَ قَبْلَكَ شَيْ ءٌ
allaahumma antal awwalo falaysa qablaka shay-un,
O Allah, You are the First, there is nothing before You,
وَ اَنْتَ الْاخِرُ فَلَيْسَ بَعْدَكَ شَيْ ءٌ
wa antal aakhero falaysa ba’daka shay-un,
You are the Last, there is nothing after You,
وَ اَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ فَلَيْسَ فَوْقَكَ شَيْ ءٌ
wa antaz zaahero fa-laysa fawqaka shay-un,
You are the Manifest, there is nothing above You,
وَ اَنْتَ الْباطِنُ فَلَيْسَ دوُنَكَ شَيْ ءٌ
wa antal baateno fa-laysa doonaka shay-un,
You are the Hidden, there is nothing below You;
صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin
bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
وَ افْعَلْ بي كَذا وَ كَذا
waf a’l bee kazaa wa kazaa.
and fulfil for me (mention your desires)
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَ بِاللهِ اُؤْمِنُ وَ بِاللهِ اَعُوذُ
bismil laahe wa billaahe oameno, wa billaahe a-o’ozo,
In the Name of Allah, in Allah do I believe and in Allah do I take refuge,
وَ بِاللهِ اَعْتَصِمُ وَ اَلُوذُ
wa billaahe a-a’tasemo wa aloozo,
through Allah do I safeguard myself and seek protection,
وَ بِعِزَّةِ اللهِ وَ مَنَعَتِهِ اَمْتَنِعُ
wa be-i’zzatil laahe wa man-a’tehi amtane-o’
and by the Might of Allah and His Invincibility, I guard myself
مِنَ الشَّيْطانِ الرَّجيمِ وَ مِنْ عَديلَتِهِ
menash shaytaanir rajeem, wa min a’deelatehi
from the accursed Shaytan and his like,
وَ حيلَتِهِ وَ خَيْلِهِ وَ رَجِلِهِ وَ شَرَكِهِ
wa heelatehi wa khaylehi wa rajelehi wa sharakehi,
his stratagems, his armies riding and on foot, and his snares,
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دابَّةٍ تَرْجُفُ مَعَهُ
wa min sharre kulle daabbatin tarjofo ma-a’hu,
and from the evil of every creature moving along with him.
وَ اَعُوذُ بِكَلِماتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ الْمُبارَكاتِ
wa ao’ozo bekalemaatil laahit taammaatil mobaarakaatil
I seek refuge in the Perfect and Blessed Words of Allah
الَّتي لايُجاوِزُهُنَّ بَرٌّ وَ لا فاجِرٌ
latee la yojaawezohunna barrun wa laa faajerun,
which neither good nor evildoer can transcend,
وَ بِاَسْماءِ اللهِ الْحُسْنى كُلِّها
wa be-asmaail laahil husnaa kullehaa
and in the Most Beautiful Names of Allah, all of them,
ما عَلِمْتُ مِنْها وَ ما لَمْ أَعْلَمْ
maa a’limto minhaa wa maa lam aa’lam,
those which I know and those I do not know,
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ ما خَلَقَ وَ ذَرَأَ وَ بَرَأَ
wa min sharre maa khalaqa wa zara-a wa bara-a,
from the evil of what He originated, created and formed,
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ طَوارِقِ اللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهارِ
wa min sharre tawaareqil layle wan nahaare,
from the evil of the happenings of the night and the day
اِلاَّ طارِقاً يَطْرُقُ بِخَيْرٍ مِنْكَ وَ عافِيَةٍ
illaa taareqan yatroqo bekhayrin minka wa a’afeyah.
except that which comes with good from You and well-being.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسي
allaahumma innee ao’ozo beka min sharre nafsee,
O Allah, I take refuge in You from the evil of myself,
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ ناظِرَةٍ وَ اُذُنٍ سامِعَةٍ
wa min sharre kulle a’ynin naazeratin, wa ozonin saame-a’tin,
and from the evil of every seeing eye, listening ear,
وَ لِسانٍ ناطِقٍ وَ يَدٍ باطِشَهٍ وَ قَدَمٍ ماشِيَةٍ
wa lesaanin naateqin, wa yadin baateshatin, wa qadamin maasheyatin,
speaking tongue, assaulting hand and moving foot
مِمَّا أَخافُهُ عَلى نَفْسي في لَيْلي وَ نَهارى
mimmaa akhaafo a’laa nafsee fee laylee wa nahaaree.
from what I fear for myself in my night and my day.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ مَنْ اَرادَني بِبَغْيٍ اَوْ عَنَتٍ
allaahumma wa man araadanee bebaghyin aw a’natin
O Allah, whosoever intends towards me wrongdoing, or evil distress,
اَوْ مَساءَةٍ اَوْ شَيْ ءٍ مَكْرُوهٍ، مِنْ جِنِّيٍّ أَوْ إِنْسِيٍّ
aw masaa-atin aw shayin makroohin, min jinniyyin aw insiyyin
or something disliked whether a jinn or a human being,
أَوْ قَريبٍ اَوْ بَعيدٍ أَوْ صَغيرٍ اَوْ كَبيرٍ
aw qareebin aw ba-e’edin, aw sagheerin aw kabeerin,
near or far, small or great,
فَاَسْأَلُكَ اَنْ تُخْرِجَ صَدْرَهُ
fa-asaloka an tokhreja sadrahu
then I ask You to remove his breast
وَ اَنْ تُمْسِكَ يَدَهُ وَ اَنْ تُقَصِّرَ قَدَمَهُ
wa an tumseka yadahu, wa an toqassera qadamahu,
and to hold back his hand, restrain his foot,
وَ تَقْمَعَ بَأْسَهُ وَ دَغَلَهُ وَ تُمِیْتَهٗ
wa taqma-a’ baasahu wa daghalahu wa tomeematahu,
suppress his might and his treachery, make him die
وَ تَرُدَّهُ بِغَيْظِهِ وَ تُشَرِّقَهٗ بِريقِهِ
wa taruddahu be-ghayzehi, wa tusharraqahu bereeqehi,
and repel him with his anger, choke him with his spittle,
وَ تُفْحِمَ لِسانَهَ وَ تُعْمِىَ بَصَرَهُ
wa tufhema lesaanahu, wa to’meya basarahu,
push in his tongue, blind his sight,
وَ تَجْعَلَ لَهُ شاغِلاً مِنْ نَفْسِهِ
wa taj-a’la lahu shaaghelan min nafsehi,
occupy him with himself,
وَ اَنْ تَحُولَ بَيْني وَ بَيْنَهُ
wa an tahoola baynee wa baynahu,
intervene between him and me
وَ تَكْفِيَنيهِ بِحَوْلِكَ وَ قُوَّتِكَ
wa takfeyaneehe behawleka wa quwwateka,
and protect me from him with Your Might and Your Power;
اِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
innaka a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer
“...Surely You are powerful over everything.” (3:26)
