Sayyid ibn Tawus has mentioned that if one says the following supplication each night in Ramadan, his sins of forty years will be forgiven for him:
اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ
allahumma rabba shahri ramadana
O Allah, the Lord of the month of Ramadan
alladhi anzalta fihi alqur'ana
in which You have revealed the Qur'an
waftaradta `ala `ibadika fihi alssiyama
and made obligatory fasting in this month upon Your servants!
salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
Please, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
warzuqni hajja baytika alharami
and provide me with the opportunity to go to Your ‘Sacred House’ for pilgrimage
in this year and in all years.
waghfir li tilka aldhdhnuba al`izama
Forgive my overbearing sins,
fa'innahu la yaghfiruha ghayruka
for verily no one other than You can forgive them.
ya rahmanu ya `allamu
O All-beneficent! O All-knowing!

1000 RakatsOne of the observances pertaining to the nights of the month of Ramadhan is to offer a thousand rakahs of supererogatory prayer during the entire month. Eminent scholars have mentioned it in their works on law and worship. The traditions differ concerning the manner of its
performance.
According to a report of Ibn Abi Qurrah from Imam Muhammad al-Jawad
(ca)—a version also preferred by Shaykh Mufeed in his books, Masa’il al-Ghariyyah
and al-Ishrf,4 or rather by the generality of scholars— 20 rakahs are to be offered every night during the first 20 days of the month of Ramadan, every two
of them followed by salam.
Eight of these rakahs are performed after maghrib prayer and 12 after isha prayer. During the last 10 days, 30 rakahs s are offered every night with 8 rakahs after maghrib and 22 after the isha prayer.
This makes a total of 700 rakcahs.
The remaining 300 rakahs are offered on the nights of al-Qadr; that is 100 on the 19th night, 100 on the 21st, and another 100 on the 23rd,
which in all make 1000 rakahs.
Day & Night Dua from Imam Sadiq (as) Imam al-sadiq (a.s) is reported to have instructed to say the following supplication every day/night in Ramadan month :
wa laka qibali tabi`atun aw dhanbun tu`adhdhibuni `alayhi
And there is still a sin or an offense in my record for which You may chastise me.
